Italy Summer of 2016 in Black and White

In preparing to publish a book of 11 years of travel photography I have been sorting through the various trips. Photos here are from a portion of a short trip I took in the summer of 2016 that included Greece and Italy. With both of those countries the subject matter for photography is almost everywhere you turn—from the streets of Florence to the canals of Venice to the timeless sites of Rome. The images I selected were shot on a Nikon D4S in color. I made the decision to modify this set of images to black and white—losing nothing of the image in the process and in some ways these images have just as much “color” as the originals. In many ways the images capture the long history of Italy in a timeless medium.
