Seeing green

My recent work has taken me outdoors and into the woods. I have stepped into my woods armed with my digital camera and a small light to take portraits of trees—at night. The images are intentionally grainy, purposely processed with inverted colors both of which brings out details not seen as clearly in the daylight. This is just the beginning of a series of images exploring trees—one of the most amazing earthly living beings. The life they lead is only partially seen, only partly understood, longer than any of us can imagine, complex and orderly and chaotic all at the same time. The images I have captured only tell a fraction of their story.
